- A pretty standard practice in the meat industry, is to add up to 20% ice chips into the ground meat products.  There's nothing unsafe about that, but you end up paying meat prices for water.  At Dueck Farms, we use 100% meat in all our ground products, no ice chips, no fill, no trim. Just our best cuts of meats.  We know we'd make more money doing it the other way, but we wouldn't want to eat it that way, and neither should you.
